Falling asleep made easier

Think about your nighttime routine. It undoubtedly includes changing into pajamas and personal hygiene activities such as taking a shower, washing your face and brushing your teeth. Then you likely slip under the covers and turn out the light. If you flip on the TV or check your phone one last time before going to sleep, you shouldn't, but that’s a topic for another article.
Once the lights are out, do you drift off to sleep, or do you find yourself tossing and turning or staring at the ceiling? If insomnia plagues you or you wake up frequently during the night, you are likely sleep deprived. That is a cause for concern as lack of sleep has negative consequences for your body. But your problem may have an easy solution: white noise. People normally think of noise as a sound, and indeed it is. But some noise has a color associated with it. White noise is a combination of sounds at various frequencies that are audible to the human ear. White noise sounds like the static of a TV or radio and is perfect for blocking out environmental noise that can interfere with your sleep.
