The Spectacular Celine Dion

What does the future hold for the singer with a “once-in-a-generation voice?”

Celine Dion shot from small-town obscurity to universal fame like a shooting star.
Her life began in 1968 in Charlemagne, Québec, Canada. The youngest of 14 siblings, she and her family members didn’t always have enough to eat. But their home was filled with love and something else … music.
At one point, her parents operated a restaurant where 5-year-old Celine delighted the customers with her performances. At 12, she, her mother and brother composed a song. Celine’s mother recorded her daughter singing it and sent the demo to well-known producer René Angélil. Upon meeting her, he signed the talented young girl to a contract, and the rest, as they say, is history!
One year later, Dion made her first TV appearance, followed by many appearances over the next two years. But it was not until Dion recorded “Beauty and the Beast” that she became an American pop music star with global recognition. By 1994, the singing sensation had already performed before millions and received numerous awards.
In the years that followed, Dion proceeded to produce one hit after another including “The Power of Love,” “All by Myself” and “My Heart Will Go On.”
